The Secretary of State mobile services will be at UIC campus on the following dates below at Student Center East 6th floor, 10:00am – 2:50pm, 750 S. Halsted Street, Room 603 or 613 SCE. Please see flyer for details.

Representatives from the Illinois Secretary of State’s Office will be on site to assist students, staff, visitors in acquiring, renewing, state identification, driver’s license, license plate stickers, and organ/tissue donor/voter registration.

Services Available

Driver’s license renewal, replacement, corrections (renewal services also available online if you receive a pin or authorization letter)
State ID card first time, renewal, replacement, corrections (renewal services also available online if you receive a pin or authorization letter)
Vehicle sticker sales (registration expiring within the current year)
Organ/Tissue Donor Registration (Only with License or ID Application)
Voting Registration (Only with License or ID Application)
REAL ID Driver’s License or State Identification Card (REAL ID used for domestic flight travel or access to federal buildings)

Motorists wishing to renew their driver’s license may do so up to one year in advance of their license’s expiration date. A complete list of acceptable forms of identification is available at ilsos.gov

Please note due to federal regulations, only one “gold star” REAL ID is allowed. You cannot hold a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license and a REAL ID-compliant state ID card at the same time.

Appointments Needed

To obtain an appointment please complete the following information via Microsoft Forms (appointment link available in August)

  1. Full Name of the person attending the appointment
  2. Date of Birth of the person attending the appointment
  3. Type of Service needed. If REAL ID, please indicate if this is the first time you are applying for a REAL ID. Please indicate type of REAL ID in your appointment request: Driver’s License REAL ID or State ID REAL ID.
  4. Date and time of preferred appointment. Each appointment is 10 minutes from 10:00am – 2:50pm

You will receive an email confirmation of your appointment time and date at least 2 weeks before the next service date. Appointments are based on the earliest submission request. Only 60 appointments are available per service date. ID Requirements

Documents for regular Driver’s License and State ID renewal.

Please see documents needed for the REAL ID first time request.  Those that are renewing their real ID may not need all documents as first time real ID appointments.

Acceptable forms of payment include personal checks or money order, Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover credit and debit cards. All credit or debit payments incur a transaction fee. Please see the fee schedule.

Please note the mobile service does not process new applicants for driver’s license. New driver’s license requires passing written and driving exams and completion of permit hours. Please go to a full service facility.
