Loretta Allen has been a part of UIC for nearly 30 years. She is an administrative secretary in math, statistics and computer science and is witness to all the positive changes on campus since she started. She is a member of the Chancellor’s Committee on the Status of Women, including a term as co-chair of the subcommittee that concentrates on conditions of employment and is a mentor in the department. She is also active outside of UIC, volunteering at her local church and being active in Boy and Girl Scouts for her children. She decided to better herself by working on her master’s degree in teaching from Chicago State University.

Stefan Howard Heading link
Position: Administrative Assistant
Department: Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine
Stefan Howard has been part of UIC since 1970, always advocating for UIC employees and volunteering in the community. He is an administrative assistant in respiratory and critical care medicine and has been a longtime member of the Staff Advisory Committee, serving as president for three terms. He was often admired for his leadership skills and knowledge of UIC rules, statutes, policy and procedures. In his free-time, he participates in fundraisers against Multiple Sclerosis and lung cancer and lends a hand at the Medical Center, coordinating gift-giving for young patients.

His drive to help the less fortunate during the holidays just shows his love for all people not only at UIC but anywhere there is a need.
