Staff Appreciation Award winner is Renee Pleshar
Renee Pleshar is the winner of the seventh Staff Support Appreciation Award, a presentation of the Staff Advisory Council.
An employee since 1978, Pleshar has demonstrated a dedication to the concerns, interest and aspirations of the University of Illinois at Chicago.
She was nominated for the award by Professors Don Murphy and John Leonard in the department of biological sciences. Murphy wrote that she “is the interface between the biology faculty and the University bureaucracy. She knows to whom one should talk with to ameliorate problems impinging on teaching and research."
Leonard said she "runs the place and is indispensable."
The objective of the Staff Support Appreciation Award is to identify and reward individuals who recognize the value of, and contribute specifically to furthering the status or goals of the University of Illinois at Chicago.
