Chancellor’s Committee on the Status of Latinos (CCSL)

The Chancellor’s Committee on the Status of Latinos promotes the academic, professional, cultural and social development of Latino faculty, staff, and students at the University of Illinois at Chicago. They are devoted to:
- Communicating the concerns of the Latino community at UIC to the administration
- Cultivating a positive, fair environment where Latinos may have successful UIC experiences
- Developing university programs that provide quality opportunities and courses to the Latino community
- Strengthening UIC’s connections with Latino alumni and communities throughout the Chicago-land area
Subcommittees focus on representation, climate, policies, services, and practices that affect Latino faculty, staff and students. The five subcommittees are:
- Faculty
- Student Recruitment and Retention
- Employment
- Community Liaison
- Latina Network
