UI Health Services provides occupational health services for the University of Illinois Hospital & Health Sciences System employees, the University of Illinois employees, volunteers, and students (if exposed or injured as part of the student curriculum).
The department’s mission is to promote the health of the employee, volunteer, or student throughout their work at the university.
Services include:
- New hire assessments
- Drug testing
- Work ability assessments,
- Fitness for duty assessments
- Worker injury assessments
- Medical surveillance evaluations
- Travel evaluations
- Student vaccinations.
An employee who is injured on the job must inform the employer promptly, by contacting his/her supervisor to report the injury. An employee must thoroughly complete and sign the First Report of Injury Form within 24 hours and email workcomp@uillinois.edu and safe@uic.edu to the Office of Worker’s Compensation and Claims Management.
